I'm not quite old enough to know the sixties, but know of them; I was aware of
Woodstock as it happened that August and recall the hippies wandering through the
woods as I just happened to be in upstate New York at that strange time. I'm old enough
to recall listening to the inquiring inspirational music of the sixties -- it cried
out that the world was in need of Balance. But the sixties came…and went.

In my senior year of high school, my physics lab partner urged me to read certain books.
My reply: “Wizards, dwarves, and elves??? No way!”"
They are what I read instead of studying for finals my freshman year, the spring of 1977

That summer I started writing an Operating System for the so-called "micro computers."
I was told this was a stupid thing to do, by a person I respected. So I stopped.
The person who advised me to stop now works for Bill. So far down the chain that
Bill has no idea he exists. This was the beginning of my training at ignoring
Calls of Destiny.
