In 1980, I published my first formal paper; it was presented
at an international IEEE conference.

That was a dichotomy that would only widen.
It was a gap into which I'd fall, and be swallowed.
And I would discover how hollow my insides truly were.
It was a troubling time. My soul was complaining.
So I continued to travel inward.

To see the Universe in a Photon, and all Heaven in a wildblotter.
I had my first honest-to-god mystical experience.
In broad daylight. Completely sober. Utterly bizarre.
Described to a friend who had lived at Findhorn,
he replied casually, “Oh, a Space Being Experience.”
I was given a task: I was told to synthesize a metaphysics for the modern era.
But that meant confronting the Void.
I backed away again from a Call of Destiny.
